Collagen and Elastin are the two main components of the connective tissue of the skin.  They have a synergistic anti-wrinkle action!

Collagen production begins to decline at 25 years by about 1% per year so it’s a good idea to start your anti-aging skin care routine early on 🙂  Along with that, it is wise to keep a wholesome diet to feed and regenerate your body and skin!

Elastin fibers form a matrix with collagen, giving the skin flexibility and movement.  Following menopause, skin elasticity begins to decline by about  0.50% per year.

With age, stress, sun damage to the skin, exposure to environmental toxins and unhealthy lifestyle choices, the skin’s renewal rate slows down!  However, there are things you can do to reverse some of this damage and loss to your skin’s matrix.

Beaulance Col-HA-gen Serum, in both 25ml and 55ml sizes, offers a tried and true remedy.  It is a trusted ally in your efforts to rejuvenate and restore your skin’s integrity.  Use together with Naturose Face Cream and/or one of our wholesome oil blends to seal it in!  Love your skin!

I recently did an interview with Subkit, an organization which empowers entrepreneurs.  They are featuring British Columbia local small business entrepreneurs in the skincare and essential oil industries!

Women frequently ask about exfoliation, what kind is best for their skin and how often they should exfoliate?  A very effective and affordable way is to combine a natural cleanser with a clay that is suitable for your skin type.  If you have dry, sensitive or mature skin, use a fine clay.  If you cleanse every day using a cotton pad or cloth to remove accumulated particles, dead skin cells, oils or makeup, then once/week is sufficient to exfoliate.  Simply moisten your skin first with warm, clean water to open your pores.  Then add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of clay to a dollop of cleanser, such as Beaulance Sea Rose Cleanse Lotion.  Work in upwards and leave on for several minutes, then rinse with tepid water.

This is great for stimulating circulation and strengthening your skin. Many other benefits to exfoliating are: sloughing off dead skin, increasing the skin’s radiance, clarity and youthfulness, unclogging pores, removing both inner and outer pollution to restore your skin to a healthy balance, helping to prevent acne, helping your skin care products to absorb more deeply and working more efficiently, helping to even skin tone, boosting circulation and lymphatic drainage, stimulating oxygen rich blood to feed and nourish the skin’s surface, helping to increase cell turnover and leading to a more glowing skin, stimulating collagen synthesis which improves skin’s  integrity and texture and finally keeping your skin looking plump, tight and young!  So it turns out that exfoliating is actually an anti-aging and simple practice! Affordable too 🙂
